Lehigh Valley Public Media, home of PBS39, partnered with Lafayette College’s Policy Studies Program to produce Lafayette Lens, which this fall examined the 2020 election and the policies that shaped it.
Lafayette College has partnered with PBS39 since 2012. The partnership has expanded through the years and resulted this season in two, half-hour shows covering policy issues of the presidential and Pennsylvania elections.
Students from two Lafayette classes – one a freshman seminar course and the other a 400-level course for juniors and seniors – reported and produced stories, working with Lehigh Valley Public Media staffers who helped them with development. Much of the work had to be done remotely because of the pandemic, with students spread out across the country.

Lafayette senior Rheya Jain reported and produced an extra report, about environmental concerns and the debate over joining the Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative – a major factor in the battle for control of Pennsylvania’s General Assembly.
