Lehigh Valley Public Media Receives Four NETA National Public Media Award Nominations
Monthly “Magazine” Program and Get More Local Marketing Campaign Among the Nominees

 

Bethlehem, P.A. – September 1, 2023 – Lehigh Valley Public Media (LVPM) garnered four nominations from the National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) Public Media Awards. Winners will be announced on September 10th at NETA’s 55th Annual Public Media Awards Gala in Grand Rapids, MI. 

The Public Media Awards honor members' best work in community engagement, content, education, marketing/communications, independent productions, and overall excellence. The awards are judged by a group of expert panelists from within the public media system, as well as industry professionals working outside of public media. 

“I am proud of the high-quality work our team members produced in the past year and it’s great to be recognized by such a prestigious group of peers,” said Tim Fallon, Chief Executive Officer of Lehigh Valley Public Media. 

The programs and categories LVPM received nominations included: 

  • Excellence in Marketing/Communications – “Get More Local” Campaign
  • Visual Arts - Lehigh Valley Rising: "The Business of Creativity"
  • News & Public Affairs - Lehigh Valley Rising: "African American Businesses"
  • Performing Arts - Kids Jam, Episode 2 featuring Musician: Fyutch


Lehigh Valley Rising is a 30-minute monthly televised “magazine” program that spotlights innovative business visionaries that are reshaping and reimagining the Lehigh Valley. 

Kids Jam, a participatory concert series that encourages children to dance, clap, and sing along to children’s music, featured 10 episodes and showcased 10 local performers. 

The “Get More Local” campaign is, a multifaceted marketing campaign launched on October 3, 2022, to bring awareness to Lehigh Valley’s free local news site, LehighValleyNews.com. The multimedia campaign was designed for online, print, video, and audio marketing materials and targets Lehigh Valley residents aged 25-49.
