In times of isolation, fear, panic and anxiety may be overwhelming for many people. Now, more than ever, is the time to take care of yourself. Self-care. It's not just a trendy topic on social media but an intentional step to take care of your mental, emotional and physical health.
Veronica Moore is a personal development strategist, coach and owner of Alma and Eva.
"To me, self-care is showing up for yourself," says Moore. "I think that is really being conscious about what are the things that fuel you? What makes you happy? What brings you joy?"
Victoria Cooper is the owner of The Consulting Firm. She brings solution-focused therapy for executives and leaders.
“Self care for me is just holding yourself accountable to prioritizing your needs," says Cooper. "Sometimes we get so overwhelmed and we're focused on everybody else, and focused on making sure that we maintain others and maintain our jobs and our families, that we don't take the time to really focus on the needs that we have for ourselves."
