WLVT - TV - Economists say the recent surge in joblessness affected America’s working women more than its working men.

Cheryl Carleton, associate professor of economics at Villanova University, said while women make up 47 percent of the U.S. labor force, they represented over half of the pandemic’s initial job losses.

Experts say the lack of childcare during the pandemic has also contributed to this “shecession.”
