A look at some of the measures in place at DeSales University

U. SAUCON TWP., Pa. (WLVT) - Classes will resume Monday, August 17, at DeSales University.

Students have an option to learn in the classroom or on Zoom, and some staff members can work from home, too. About 1,700 undergraduate students are enrolled for this school year, and campus leaders feel confident the campus will be safe.

"I strongly believe that the richness of the face-to-face is far superior to remote," said Marc Albanese, vice president of campus environment at DeSales.

The university invested in a rapid testing machine and hired a nurse dedicated to Covid-19. A Covid suite was created with a separate entrance, and a team of contact tracers will be working to help mitigate a potential spread.

Campus events have been adjusted to maintain social distancing or have been moved to virtual.
