Lehigh Valley Organizations Partner to Support Fire Victims

ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WLVT) - Three local nonprofit organizations announced Tuesday that they created a platform for you to donate directly to the victims in Sunday’s Allentown fire.
The United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, Community Action Committee of the Lehigh Valley, and the American Red Cross Lehigh Valley held a press conference to explain how they will use each other’s resources to support the families.
Officials from the organizations said they received several calls from people wanting to donate specifically to the families involved. Because of this, they have an online link that will allow you to send money to United Way, so they can distribute it to the families. You can also text “Fountain Street” to 71777 to give.
Some of the money will be given directly to the families, while the rest of the money will be used to pay their bills and expenses. “We’re taking no fees at all,” said President of the United Way of the Greater Lehigh Valley, Dave Lewis. “100 percent of the donations is going back to the families in need.”
To drop off physical donations, you can take items to Promise Neighborhoods Lehigh Valley at 1101 Hamilton St. in Allentown.
