Allentown School Official Fights to Keep Students Housed

Over 36,000 Pennsylvanian students experienced homelessness during the 2017-2018 school year. Last year, Allentown accounted for nearly 1,100 of those students. Since 2014, the commonwealth has added nearly 10,000 school-aged children to its Pennsylvania-wide count of homeless youth. PBS39 News Tonight’s Chloe Nouvelle introduces us to Allentown School District’s Homelessness Liaison, Russell “Rooster” Valentini, the man responsible for answering the pleas of parents who have run out of options.
