ALLENTOWN, Pa. (WLVT) - The Allentown School District received $2.8 million in December to begin their middle school transformation, and now, they are getting back on track to make it happen.

Superintendent, Thomas Parker, said because of the global crisis and schools being closed, the timeline was pushed back. The transformation consists of community organizations, business partners, and families to put resources in place for students to succeed.

Parker said it’s important to make sure students enter high school prepared for success, and that starts at the middle school level. This transformation will also address students who don’t have stability at home. Parker said they are working to put more counselors and qualified professionals in each school and have all four middle schools become community schools.
