WLVT - TV - A recent report by Georgetown University's Health Policy Institute found the number of American children going without health insurance is on the rise.
Researchers found the United States reached a historic low in the number of uninsured children in 2016. However, a year later, the numbers started to climb. As of 2019, 4.4 million children were uninsured.
While Pennsylvania's rate of uninsured children is below the national average, a Harrisburg-based public health expert says the commonwealth has the eighth highest number of uninsured children in the nation.
