Federally-backed housing has a 120 rental eviction moratorium, but for private housing, there is often no such safety program. Pennsylvania has had in place an eviction ban until May 11, and eviction processing may begin as soon as Monday, depending on whether courts will be open to begin that work immediately. Renters are worried. Many have lost income or are out of work, and are at a higher likelihood to miss a rental payment (or more than one) during the pandemic shutdown.

UPDATE May 8: Gov. Wolf, Attorney General Shapiro Announce Protections from Foreclosures and Evictions Through July 10
From the release: "Governor Tom Wolf was joined by Attorney General Josh Shapiro today to announce that he signed an executive order that protects Pennsylvanians from foreclosures or evictions through July 10. The action builds on a Pennsylvania Supreme Court order which closed court eviction proceedings until May 11 and ensures no renter or homeowner will be removed from their home for 60 more days."
