Reading and Northern Railroad Company had announced it was ending its relationship with Jim Thorpe borough in November 2019, after the borough attempted to collect amusement taxes. In July. Governor Wolf signed a bill to exempt freight train companies from paying that tax.

After the closures due to Covid-19, business owners say the tourism boost in town is much needed.

The borough and Jim Thorpe Tourism Agency are expecting Fall to be even busier, so they are making plans to ensure it is safe.

Passengers must wear masks on the train rides and additional train cars were added to allow people to spread out. Click here for the schedule and to buy tickets.
