Groups are most often welcome for Lehigh Valley Public Media events and on-air fund drives.

Please note that many of our volunteer positions are one-time opportunities and may not meet the needs of a community service requirement.

Why do I need my clearances to volunteer?

As a PBS station, we host a variety of children's events and activities throughout any given day and cannot guarantee that a volunteer will not interact directly with children. Because of this, we do require all of our volunteers to obtain their PA Child Abuse and PA Criminal History Clearances prior to volunteering for the station.

Do I need to pay to obtain my clearances?

No. Volunteers are able to obtain the Criminal Background Check and Child Abuse History clearances free in the state of PA. Clearances are valid for 5 years after request, so be sure to save the certificates for future reference.
